Ted Mondale named CEO of new Vikings stadium authority
Gov. Dayton swears-in members of the MSFA on June 22, 2012
MINNEAPOLIS (KMSP) -
Ted Mondale has been named the CEO and executive director of the new Vikings stadium authority. Mondale will earn a salary of $157,181.
Mondale's appointment highlighted the first meeting between the five members of the new Minnesota Sports Facilities Authority.
The old Metropolitan Sports Facilities Commission will dissolve within 90 days, as the new MSFA assumes all contracts and duties. Employees will transition from the old group to new, with no job cuts planned at this point.
Michele Kelm-Helgen left her job as a top aide to Gov. Mark Dayton to assume to post of MSFA executive director. The governor attended Friday's meeting at the Metrodome to swear-in the members.
The MSFA will oversee design and construction of the new Vikings stadium, half of which is funded by public money.
The authority must also decide whether to manage the construction project directly or give the Vikings that responsibility.
