Whoa…where does the better part of a week go? I'd like to lie and say that I've been locked in the basement working feverishly on the re-debut of our Fantasy Football website, Fantasy Victory, but it wouldn't be a lie at all. I sort of feel like Punxsutawney Phil in that about once a day, I poke my head out of the lab to check out what has happened in the wonderful world of sport.
So the Three Stooges are a game away from clinching eh?
Well, from highlights I have watched, there hasn't been a team that has melted down in the home stretch of games since Chris Webber tried to use a timeout he didn't have against North Carolina in the 1993 NCAA title game than that of the OKC Blunder…I mean Thunder.
Raise your hand if you knew the shot clock resets to five seconds on a jump ball when there is less than five when the jump is called.
Really? Neither did Russell Westbrook.
So we'll see if the Heat have the right mental makeup to close out the series. My guess is the Thunder force game six back at their house…or at least that is the hope.
So now Percy wants out of Minnesota? To those who honestly thought they didn't see that coming, please go take a deep breath and listen. Harvin is a tremendous talent, but is not a number one receiver, except for the fact that he is on our team because with all due respect to the other receivers on the roster none of them are a number one either. So we sit in a game of chicken and only Harvin, his agent and the second floor dwellers at Winter Park actually know the truth as to why the Harvin saga is reading like "50 Shades of Gray" only it's purple.
FOX 9 Sports Director Jim Rich chatted with NHL free-agent to be Zach Parise about many things other than joining the home town hockey team. Really, there isn't too much to break at this point as the local kid whom the Wild covet can't really talk about anything until July 1. Other than he isn't going to base his decision strictly on if his new team made the playoffs or not last season. (That would be good news for our guys for those keeping score at home)
Let's hope Lou Nanne was right when he told us the Wild would be able to offer more money than anyother team. In the meantime, back the Wells Fargo truck up and load it with 100 dollar bills.
Tick-tick-tick..we wait for July 1.
Back to the lab.
Stat of the Day:
In Percy Harvin's 45 career regular season games he has five catches or less in 28 of those games and has only topped the 100 yard mark in six. Still want to make it rain for the former Gator?
