MANKATO, Minn. (KMSP) -
There will be no trial for 34-year-old Jennifer Nibbe, who pleaded guilty Wednesday to second-degree murder in the August 2010 shooting death of her husband at their home in Lake Crystal, Minn.
Nibbe initially told police it was an intruder who shot her husband James. She then staged a fake crime scene, but investigators couldn't find any signs of a struggle or a break-in. It had rained earlier that night, but no recent footprints or tire tracks could be found outside the home.
According to the charges, Nibbe had been texting with another man, even sending him nude photos. Nibbe wrote in a journal, "I've always had feelings for him. I can't stop thinking about him and I together."
The trial was expected to last several weeks. A judge will sentence Jennifer Nibbe next month.
