Last week, people were driving around thinking there was some relief coming at the gas pump. Some gas stations were selling gas at $3.39/gallon, which looked very nice.
But, in the matter of just seven days, prices in the Twin Cities have spiked 21 cents in a week!
Minnesota is routinely below the national average when it comes to gas prices, but now we're 15 cents higher than the national average of $3.53.
So, what's going on in this market that is causing gas prices to rise so quickly, while it seems the rest of the nation is just seeing slight increases?
Also, this is happening while the price of crude oil is going down.Barrels of oil were going for $106 six weeks ago and today are down to a little more than $83 per barrel.
