Eastview pitcher Evan DeCovich did it all for the Lightning in their 1-0 championship win over Bemidji. He pitched a complete game shutout over the Lumberjacks and scored the lone run of the game after leading off the second inning with a double.
The Lumberjacks had a chance to tie the game in the sixth inning when Sam Dwyer reached third base with two outs, but Mitch Hendricks flew out to right to end the threat.
DeCovich struck out five while walking one in his eighth win of the season. His counterpart Ryan Hirt lost his first game of the season, worked six innings allowing only four hits.
