For many kids, summer is a time for fun and games. But for 17 million children in the US, summer is a time when hunger spikes.
Though childhood summers should be a time of food, friends and fun, far too many kids in our country find themselves worrying about how they'll eat without the safety net of school breakfast and lunch.
Well, an organization called "Share Our Strength" is trying to end hunger among kids and one of their big events is here in Minneapolis. Share Our Strength's Taste of the Nation Minneapolis will help raise money for the 231,000 "food insecure" kids in Minnesota.
Chef Seth Bixby Daugherty has taken on this project over the past couple years, working to alleviate a persistent problem in Minnesota.
