Bus passengers in flooded ditch: Take us back to the casino!

Flood waters forced a Treasure Island Casino bus into a ditch off County Road 18 between Hastings and Red Wing late Thursday night.

The casino said its metro route bus bound for St. Paul went into the ditch near the Etter Bridge around 10:30 p.m. There were 16 passengers and the driver on the bus.

When Prairie Island police and Treasure Island security staff arrived at the scene, the passengers asked to be taken back to the casino. Four people in their own cars were also taken back to Treasure Island around 12:50 a.m.

13 people were put up in hotel rooms and seven others returned to the Twin Cities on a Treasure Island shuttle.
