Lake Harriet beach closed due to E. coli

Posted: Updated:
MINNEAPOLIS (KMSP) -

The Lake Harriet southeast beach has been closed temporarily due to E. coli bacteria that exceeded state guidelines.

The beach was closed Tuesday, June 12. The Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board will re-sample the beach on Wednesday.

There have been no reports of any illness from swimmers at the Lake Harriet beach. When the bacteria levels are within state guidelines, the beach will reopen.

The park board routinely monitors beach bacteria, and posts test results on its website at www.minneapolisparks.org
