MINNEAPOLIS (KMSP) -
Authorities say they have found the body of a missing boater on Lake Independence on Friday.
On Sunday, officials identified 67-year-old Charles Dollar as the apparent drowning victim. He had been missing since Thursday morning.
A search using divers and sonar equipment was underway when a diver spotted the body in about six and a half feet of water near the dock at the Baker Park boat launch, the Hennepin County Sheriff's Office said.
According to officials, the man's boat was located Thursday night floating adrift on the lake. Authorities then learned that the male victim, a resident of Long Lake, went fishing early Thursday morning and never returned.
The Three Rivers Park Police Department and the Medina Police Department assisted Hennepin County with the recovery.
