Weekend road closures: I-94, 35W, Highway 62

Several heavily-used highways in the Twin Cities metro will have complete or partial lane closures this weekend, including I-94, 35W and Highway 62.

EASTBOUND I-94, MINNEAPOLIS

Eastbound lanes of Interstate 94 will be closed between Highway 55 (Hiawatha Avenue) and Highway 280 from 10 p.m. Friday, June 8 until 5 a.m. Monday, June 11.

Detour: Northbound 35W to eastbound Hwy 36 to southbound 35E to eastbound I-94.

35W, ARDEN HILLS/MOUNDS VIEW

Both directions of Interstate 35W are closed between Interstate 694 and the north junction of Highway 10 and 35W 10 p.m. Friday, June 8 until 5 a.m. Monday, June 11.

The closure is necessary to remove a bridge.

Detour: Interstate 694, Highway 252 and Highway 10.

HIGHWAY 62, EDINA

You can expect delays on Highway between Penn Avenue and Tracy Avenue in Edina starting Friday, June 8.

Crews are working on pedestrian accessibility upgrades at the France Avenue, Xerxes Avenue, Penn Avenue and Valley View Road interchanges. Daytime, non-rush hour lane closures will occur during the work. After accessibility upgrades have been completed, the ramps at the interchanges will be resurfaced during overnight ramp closures.

During the weekend of June 8-11, westbound Highway 62 will be reduced to a single lane from 9 p.m. Friday until 5 a.m. Monday for shoulder widening at Penn Avenue.

HIGHWAY 13, SAVAGE

Both directions of Highway 13 between 126th Street and Highway 101 will be closed from 10 p.m. Friday, June 8 until 5 a.m. Monday, June 11 for construction on Highway 13 and Highway 101.

Detour: Highway 13/101 to County Road 21, County Road 18, and County Road 42.
