HUDSON, Wis. (KMSP) -
A crash involving two semis and three cars has shut down westbound traffic on Interstate 94 at milepost 9, east of Hudson and south of Roberts.
Eastbound traffic is also moving slowly due to gawkers.
The crash happened around noon Thursday on I-94 near Highway 65 in St. Croix County. The Wisconsin State Patrol hoped to have I-94 reopened by 5 p.m.
Traffic in the area was being rerouted through Exit 19 at Baldwin. Motorists could then travel along WIS-63 south to WIS-29 west to WIS-35 north and re-enter the Interstate.
One semi involved in the crash went off the road and the other was flipped and severely damaged. A car was also involved in the crash and significantly damaged.
Serious injuries have been reported, and some of the crash victims have been airlifted to Regions Hospital in St. Paul.
The exact number and extent of the injuries is not known at this time.
