Twins spell relief pitcher's name wrong

Posted: Updated:

In our job, we've all been there -- a dreaded misspelling of a word. It could be an actual word that spell check simply doesn't catch, and things look just fine when reading the piece after writing it. Nonetheless, it's still embarrassing.

The Twins recalled right-handed pitcher Jeff Manship back on May 27. The reliever took to the mound in Kansas City last night and had his name spelled ‘Mansihp' on the back of his jersey.

According to MLB.com's Rhett Bollinger's tweet, Manship was unaware of the error on the back of his uniform.
