Bath salts have been linked to a number of strange and violent incidents, and FOX 9 News spoke Dr. Benjamin Orozco, with the Hennepin Regional Poison Center, about the effects of the drug.
The most notorious incident is that of the naked homeless man in Florida who was shot and killed after chewing off the face of another naked homeless man. Police were forced to shoot and kill the man in broad daylight -- and it was all caught on surveillance video. The victim remains in critical condition.
There is currently a federal ban of the chemicals found in bath salts, and Minnesota has a separate ban of its own.
