Any kid that has ever played the game of baseball imagines playing in the major leagues. Eden Prairie's Cole De Vries had his dream become a reality after spending time in the minor leagues. Now, he is playing for the team he grew up cheering for.
"A dream come true," said De Vries about putting on a Twins uniform. "I grew up here and watched the Twins, now to play for them it's absolutely surreal and every bit of my dream come true."
De Vries is the latest in a youth movement the team is going through especially in the pitching staff. P.J Walters and Scott Diamond had success in their first few starts for the team and De Vries hopes that trend can continue for him.
"You always have doubts of ‘Am I good enough to be here?' and then you have teammates who have done as well as I have here and been very successful," said Walters. "It does nothing but build your confidence."
De Vries joined FOX 9 Sports Director Jim Rich on the set of Sports Primetime to talk about his journey to the major leagues.
