
Americans who tied the knot in 2011 also shelled out piles of cash. According to a survey conducted by TheKnot.com and WeddingChannel.com, the average wedding budget for 2011 was $27,021. The study surveyed nearly 18,000 US couples who married in 2011.
The study found that wedding budgets rose for the first time since 2008 and found that families were comfortable with spending more on their weddings. The budget rose from the $26,984 amount and in some cases, spending more than the average median annual paycheck which was reported as $26,364.
