After a day of ripe conditions, the metro was hit with storms that brought high winds, hail and heavy rain.
Lightning also sparked a house fire in White Bear Lake as storms rolled through at about 4:30 a.m.
Firefighters say a small fire started to smolder in the roof for awhile before the homeowners realized their house, located on the 2000 block of 3rd street, was on fire.
Everyone was able to escape the fire without injury.
