It's not going to be long before we start seeing some really steamy temperatures. The last thing you're going to want to have happen is something to go wrong with your central air.
Jeff Lee spoke with Keith, one of his technicians, about the ins and outs of what is called A/C reconditioning.
What exactly are the benefits of having your air conditioner reconditioned?
"You can save money, fewer breakdowns, and better all around performance throughout the year," Keith said.
Can you share a couple of the things you do when you recondition an old A/C unit?
"We check the amp draws to ensure the motor's working like (it) should work. We check the electrical components to make sure there (are) no burnt connections. We check the freon levels to ensure proper cooling in the house, and we clean the outdoor condensing coil ... to allow proper cooling of the condenser," Keith explained.

A/C reconditioning is kind of an intense cleaning and tuning. They generally range in cost, depending on your company, anywhere from $69 to $99, but it's the best way that you can continue to save money and keep you air conditioning running well all summer long.
