In this age of video games, text messaging friends and Facebook, it's not as easy as it used to be to get your gets interested in playing a musical instrument. But, a new app, developed by a local company, is hoping to use new technology to get kids "wanting" to play music.

These Emmy award-winning educational/entertainment entrepreneurs are rolling out the app to teach kids and beginners how to play real musical instruments on an iPad/iPhone through what they call the "gamification of music."

Top notch orchestral musicians (with the Minnesota Orchestra and St. Paul Chamber Orchestra, McNally Smith School of Music, Schmitt Music) are involved in the development, which will be sold as a download on iTunes.

By combining kid friendly movie quality animation with modern gaming software, the learning experience has been transformed from the mundane to marvelous. These tools are high tech, fun, portable, and an inexpensive way to learn how to play, anytime the user chooses.
