MINNEAPOLIS (KMSP) -
St. Louis County in northern Minnesota and Rice County just south of the Twin Cities metro are among the top three fastest nationwide in completing the home foreclosure process.
In the rankings put together by Bloomberg and RealtyTrac, the fastest in the country in the U.S. is Guadalupe County, Texas, where lenders complete foreclosures in a 46.6-day average. St. Louis County, which includes Duluth, and Rice County were ranked No. 2 and No. 3, respectively.
Foreclosures averaged about 46 days start-to-finish in St. Louis and 51 days in Rice.
The 10 U.S. counties with the longest foreclosure completion were all in New York and New Jersey, led by New York City's Kings County where lenders took an average of 1,187 days to complete the foreclosure process – that's more than three years.
