Daley Won't Comment Yet on CPS Spending

Mayor Daley said he has not yet seen the report that suggests two former Chicago School Board Presidents spent thousands of taxpayer dollars on food, travel and gifts.

The Sun-Times is reporting that Michael Scott and Rufus Williams used their city credit cards to buy artwork worth $3,000 per piece.

An inspector general's report also reveals that Williams paid a $1,000 a day for a private limousine during a visit to New York City.

Yesterday the mayor said he would wait until all the facts were on the table before commenting further.

The Chicago Teachers Union said the reports are troubling at a time when CPS is facing a massive $900 million deficit that could mean salary cuts and crowded classrooms.
