Chicago Public Schools Thursday kicked off their back-to-school campaign.
CPS will run an aggressive multi-media campaign building up to the first day of school. Schools CEO Jean-Claude Brizard said the idea is to get as many kids as possible in the classroom that first day.
Brizard said he personally will be going to a number of churches and community centers to remind parents about the first day.
Brizard said the first day of school can set the tone for the entire year.
Most Chicago Public Schools start Tuesday, Sept. 6.
