Advocate shares ways to end bullying

Posted: Updated:

When it comes to bullying in schools, there are many discussions on how to stop it. FOX 9 News spoke with Nina Jonson, with the West Suburban Teen Clinic, to discuss what specific actions are being taken to put an end to it.

On Sunday, Iowa's Sioux City Journal used the entire front page of its paper to tackle the topic of bullying. The editorial came after the suicide of a teen who committed suicide.

Relatives have said 14-year-old Kenneth Weishuhn Jr. suffered intense harassment, including threatening cell phone calls and nasty comments posted online, after coming out to family and friends about a month ago. He died April 15 from what the local sheriff's office described only as a "self-inflicted injury."

Editor Mitch Pugh said the newspaper has run front-page editorials before but has never devoted the entire page to one.
