Ramsey County is conducting what it calls an administrative review of its contract with Chief Medical Examiner Michael McGee after a judge ruled that his testimony may have been false or incorrect.
For the past 10 months, McGee has been the focus of a series of reports by FOX 9 Investigator Jeff Baillon which have raised questions about McGee's work -- including some of his findings that sent people prison.
Recently, McGee's findings and testimony in the murder trial of Michael Hansen, who was convicted of killing his baby girl, was found to be insufficient for conviction. Hansen has since been freed and is scheduled to get a new trial later this month.
Ramsey County told FOX 9 News there is no particular reason for reviewing McGee's contract at this time, and McGee did not respond to a request for comment.
