Alcides Segui is a general assignment reporter for FOX 13. He joined the FOX 13 team in the winter of 2008.
The son of Cuban immigrants, Alcides was born and raised in Tampa. He graduated from Leto High School and holds a degree in journalism from Florida A&M University.
Alcides played baseball for the Rattlers for two years before hanging up his cleats and pursuing a career in journalism.
Alcides began his career in Tallahassee, Florida. He worked as a reporter at WCTV. Several years after, Alcides returned to the Bay Area working for WWSB in Sarasota.
Four years later, Alcides accepted an anchor and reporter position for WAAY in Huntsville, Alabama. His goal has always been to come back to Tampa and report in his hometown.
"I'm truly blessed to be working for FOX 13. I interned here years ago and I always hoped this would be the station I worked for. Seeing all the familiar faces made me feel right at home," he says/
When he's not digging up a story, you can find Alcides playing golf, enjoying the outdoors, watching SEC football, or, of course, spending time with his wife and son.
