Crashes, Delays on Snowy Metro Roads

This early-mid October blast of snow made for a wet commute Monday morning. Multiple spinouts, crashes and delays were reported and MnDOT is asking drivers to keep a safe distance from plows clearing highways as snow continues to fall.

A storm system making its way toward Minnesota and upper Wisconsin in the next few days could dump as much as a foot of snow in some places.

How You Can Help With Fargo Floods

Residents in Fargo, ND and surrounding areas need help, as the Red River continues to rise. The Red Cross and United Way have sent volunteers to the flooded region. The volunteers are racing against time to place workers, food, and supplies to support the flood efforts.

Winter Storm, Blizzard Warnings Tuesday

A Winter Storm Warning is in effect for most of the FOX 9 viewing area from the west metro (including Carver, Hennepin & Anoka counties) to western & northern Minnesota through Wednesday morning. A Blizzard warning has been posted for extreme Western Minnesota (due to expected wind gusts of 40+ mph). Also, a Winter Weather Advisory has been issued for the South & East Metro & into southern Minnesota & western Wisconsin.

Another round of snow will arrive Sunday, giving the March lion a bit of a roar.

Although the Metro is only expecting one to three inches of snow, there is the potential for five to six inches or more between areas just south of the Metro and the Iowa border.
