Eden Prairie - The Superbowl is supposed to be the event of the year as far as television ratings. Not so for Superbowl 44 here in the Twin Cities. The game, televised locally on CBS (WCCO) averaged a 51 rating and 75 share. Those are big numbers, but nothing Super. In fact, for the Twin Cities, and Viking fans, the real super ratings draw was the NFC Championship Game. That game, shown on FOX 9 (KMSP) achieved a 58.3 rating and 80 share. The rating is the percentage of television households watching a program in a market. The share is the percentage of the sets that are "on", which are tuned to a specific program.
