Williams Wall vs. NFL in Hennepin County Court

Published : Monday, 08 Mar 2010, 8:03 AM CST

MINNEAPOLIS - The Williams wall is expected in court this morning. The hearing will address the dispute concerning whether the NFL can suspend the Vikings two starting defensive tackles. We are expecting Vikings Kevin and Pat Williams to stand before a Minnesota judge today.

Both sides wanted to come to a resolution before today's scheduled trial.

At this point, a judge is to consider whether the NFL can be forced to comply with Minnesota law when it comes to enforcing drug policies.

The Williamses tested positive back in 2008 for a banned diuretic they say wasn't listed as an ingredient in a weight-loss supplement.

The diuretic is known to mask if there are any steroids in a person. But the players are not accused of taking steroids.

The NFL did try to suspend the Williamses for four games each, but a judge allowed them to play.

A few weeks ago, a judge felt he didn't have enough facts to make a confident decision and sent the case to trial.

The hearing is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. at the Hennepin county courthouse.

Knowing that both sides wanted to resolve this before the trial, stay connected to myfox9.com for breaking details.
