MINNEAPOLIS - Once fans get to the Target Field on game day, many people are wondering where they should park.
In addition to light rail, commuter rail, buses and bikes, the Twins organization and the city do have a parking plan ready for game days. The Twins say when you count up all the ramps, surface parking lots and meters there are close to 32,000 parking spots downtown.
The Twins say you should stay out of parking ramps A, B and C, which are the closest to Target Field, if you want to exit downtown quickly after a game. The lots by the Metrodome may be fans’ best bet.
Tim Mahoney owns the Loon Café just a few blocks from Target Field. He thinks parking will be an issue.
“I think in the beginning it’s going to be tough because it’s a learning experience for everybody,” said Mahoney.
Mahoney is pushing public transportation as the best bet for getting to and from Target Field on game days.
