ST. PAUL, Minn - #FindTodd was the Twitter hashtag used in a social media-dominated effort to locate missing St. Paul marketing consultant Todd Tweedy.
It’s not known if social media was a factor, but the Minnesota Department of Public Safety canceled is missing person alert Thursday after Tweedy was found in Baldwin, Wis. He is currently in Regions Hospital receiving unknown treatment.
Tweedy, 47, said he was suffering from depression and said "Goodbye" to everyone in a message posted to his Facebook page around 6 p.m. Tuesday.
DPS didn’t provide any additional details aside from the fact Tweedy was found alive.
Tweedy's family released the following statement Thursday:
“Thank you for your prayers and support. We are grateful that treatment is available, and we hope that this can help give others the confidence to ask for help. Treatment works..”
