No Cranberry Sauce in Your Carry-On

TSA rules on traveling with Thanksgiving leftovers

Gravy? Check it. Maple syrup? Forget about it. Cranberry sauce? Not in your carry-on. And don't even think about bringing that snow globe through security.

The Transportation Security Administration is reminding travelers this Thanksgiving of popular leftovers and gifts you can't bring through the security checkpoint.

Here's a list of liquid, aerosol and gel items the TSA recommends shipping ahead of time, leaving at home or putting in your checked bag if you must:

  • Cranberry sauce
  • Cologne
  • Creamy dips and spreads (cheeses, peanut butter, etc.)
  • Gift baskets with food items (salsa, jams and salad dressings)
