Two Teenage Girls Arrested for Taxi Driver Assault

Two teenage girls are in custody Tuesday night, after allegedly robbing a taxi driver at knifepoint and stealing his cab.

Monday night in Minneapolis, a 42-year-old  taxi driver reported being robbed of about $250 cash and his van. The girls left him on the side of road, and took off. The van was found abandoned Tuesday morning around 7 a.m.

The girls then apparently tried robbing another cab driver on 41st St. East in Minneapolis Tuesday just before noon. The 28-year-old driver resisted, and called police.

A 14 and 17-year-old girl were apprehended and currently in custody at a juvenile center.
