EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. - Federal law allows employers to pay workers who get tips as little as $2.13 an hour as long as those tips adds up to the full minimum wage of $7.25 an hour or more.
But the State of Minnesota requires employers to pay tipped workers the full minimum wage and any tips they earn are on top that.
Minnesota is one of only seven states where it works this way.
