MINNEAPOLIS - A man in jail and another seriously were injured in a crash on Thursday Minneapolis. The suspect’s family turned him in because they suspected he was drinking and driving.
The suspect, Paul Engen, left the scene of the crash around 2:30 a.m. at 28th Avenue and 42nd Street.
Police say a Chevy Tahoe, driven by Engen, crashed into a Subaru station wagon, sending the station wagon spinning 200 feet through the intersection, across a parking lot and into a wall. The drive was injured.
Engen slammed into the front of the barbershop leaving a few broken bricks and several skid marks.
Sharien Howie, who lives two doors down, ran outside and watched the driver of the Tahoe get out of his SUV and stagger past her.
Police arrested the driver, Paul Engen, at his home after his parents called police.
Investigators believe Engen was drunk, but without any witnesses, they aren't sure who or if someone ran a red light and caused the crash.
