Jim the Election Guy Identified

MINNEAPOLIS - Jim the Election Guy has been identified.

MinnPost’s Derek Wallbank confirmed with multiple sources that the face of Rep. Michele Bachmann’s campaign ads is Beau Peregino ’ an actor from California who studied theater at Towson University in Maryland.

Jay Herzog, Peregino's theater professor of at Towson, told MinnPost "that's absolutely Beau." The Bachmann campaign, those involved with the making of the ad, Peregino’s casting agency and the actor himself all declined to comment or did not return messages.

Questions were swirling about the identity of Jim the Election Guy after Bachmann released her first campaign as in which the young, casually dressed ’Jim’ says he will ’help sort things out during this upcoming political campaign.’

Democrat Tarryl Clark has countered the Republican Bachmann by releasing her own ads, featuring ’Real Jims’ from the 6th district. The 6th district race between Bachmann and Clark could end up being one of the most expensive house races in the country.
