Awaiting Charges in Rosedale Brawl, Stabbings

2 victims remain hospitalized, expected to survive

ROSEVILLE, Minn. - Two people hospitalized after a stabbing at Rosedale Mall in Roseville, Minn. on Saturday are expected to survive, with charges against one suspect expected to be filed later this week.

Roseville Police Chief Rick Mathwig said Monday his department has devoted a large number of staff and resources to the ongoing investigation.

A 17-year-old was arrested at the mall on Saturday. Mathwig said all identified suspect are juveniles, so their identified will not be released at this time.

A large fight broke out at Rosedale Mall around 8:30 p.m. Saturday. First responders found two teenagers with stab wounds -- one had cuts to his face and another was stabbed in the back. Monday, both victims remained in the hospital.

Witness dam Warhol said the fight happened in front of the Verizon kiosk, where he works. He said about 12 young men were fighting, swinging massage chairs and one man's head was being smashed into a column repeatedly.

"I've never seen anything like that," said Warhol.
