Minnesota Governor Tim Pawlenty hosted a big fundraiser Wednesday night in Minneapolis for his Freedom First political action committee.
Wednesday's fundraiser was the first major event for Pawlenty's PAC. 300 people, including actors Jon Voight and John Ratzenberger paid $1,000 to $5,000 to attend the dinner and reception.
While Pawlenty is picking up some star support, he wants the focus to remain on raising money for 2010 GOP candidates.
Thursday morning, Pawlenty is announcing a proposed amendment to the Minnesota constitution. Pawlenty spokesman Brian McClung says the proposal is related to economic issues.
Saturday, the governor travels to Iowa.
