4 People Mugged in South Minneapolis

Two bicyclists attacked, robbed late Wednesday

MINNEAPOLIS - Four people, including two bicyclists, were mugged in four separate incidents late Wednesday night and early Thursday morning in south Minneapolis.

Wednesday, 10:15 p.m.

A man was riding his bicycle home and near E. 32nd St. and Oakland Ave. when three suspects charged at him, causing him to fall off his bike and hit his head on the pavement. The man was then robbed at gunpoint.

The suspects are described as three black males, age 14 to 17 years, wearing hooded white, gray and black sweatshirts.

Wednesday, 10:40 p.m.

A man was riding his bicycle near Powderhorn Park when five suspects kicked the front tire of his bike, causing him to fall and hit his head on the pavement.

The suspects dragged the man toward the tennis court and kicked him in the head. The victim lost consciousness and awoke to find he had been robbed of his belongings.

The suspects are described as five black males, age 17 to 20 years, wearing hooded sweatshirts. One of the suspects had a gun.

Thursday, 1:50 a.m.
A man was walking south on 27th Ave. S. near E. 28th St. when five men and a woman stood in front of him. The suspects moved to let the man pass, then knocked him to the ground and held him down. The man was punched, kicked and robbed.

The suspects are described as two white males, three black males and one black female, ages 21 to 27, wearing dark hooded sweatshirts and dark clothing.

Thursday, 6:16 a.m.
A man was walking toward the light rail station at E. 32nd St. and 23rd Ave. S. when he was attacked by two men and a woman. The man was knocked to the ground, kicked and punched. The suspects demanded money and stole items out of his pockets.

The suspects are described as two males and one female, unknown race, unknown age.
