Search for Vehicle Carrying Mattress in I-94 Motorcycle Crash

ST. PAUL, Minn. - The Minnesota State Patrol is searching for a vehicle that was carrying a mattress that ended up on Interstate 94, leading to a crash that left a motorcycle rider in critical condition.

According to the State Patrol, Steven Konrad, 46, of Woodbury was riding his motorcycle eastbound on Interstate 94 when an SUV swerved to avoid hitting a mattress that fell off a third vehicle.

Konrad crashed his motorcycle and was thrown onto the pavement. He remained in critical condition at Regions Hospital in St. Paul on Friday.
