H1N1 Deaths Rise to 32 in Minnesota

6 new H1N1 flu-related deaths in Minnesota

Published : Tuesday, 24 Nov 2009, 1:03 PM CST

Minnesota has now recorded 32 deaths related to H1N1 flu infections, including six new cases reported by the state health department Tuesday.

The Minnesota Department of Health said six more people have died from complications related to H1N1 flu since November 18. The health department also reported one flu-like death that wasn't confirmed H1N1.

Counting both confirmed H1N1 flu infections and unconfirmed cases, Minnesota has recorded 35 deaths this year.

As of Nov. 21, there have been 1,767 total H1N1 flu hospitalizations in the state, up by about 70 since last week.

MDH reported 10 outbreaks in schools from Nov. 15 to Nov. 21, continuing a downward trend since a big spike in mid-October.
