FOREST LAKE, Minn. - Forest Lake High School and neighboring Century Junior High School were locked down for about an hour Friday morning after a suspicious person was reported near school grounds.
At about 6:40 a.m. Friday morning, an employee of Century Junior High saw a man in his early 20s trying to gain access to the school.
The employee confronted the man, who ran off. The employee gave chase and a second employee joined in. The employees lost track of the man as they ran through the parking lot of the adjacent Forest Lake Senior High.
Officials put both Century Junior High and Forest Lake High School into lockdown mode, keeping students already in the school in place and arriving students in their buses.
Police are sheriff's deputies searched both school buildings and the grounds, determined everything was secure declared the schools all clear around 8:30 a.m.
