ST. PAUL - People opposed to President Obama's healthcare plan attended the "Kill the Bill" Rally on the State Capitol steps Saturday afternoon.

Jeff Davis from Minnesota Majority estimated the crowd numbered about 4,000. However, police tell FOX 9 News they estimate the number to be less than 2,000.

The crowd repeatedly cried "Kill the bill," while keynote speakers Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-6th District) and Rep. John Kline (R-2nd District) spoke about how they feel President Obama's healthcare plan is wrong for the country.

The president wants to have the completed bill on his desk by March 18th.

Bachmann accused Democrats of planning to force the health reform bill through Congress in a matter of days using the so-called nuclear option. The method, technically called budget reconciliation, would enable the Senate to pass a House-amended version of its own already-approved health care bill, bypassing debate and thus staving off any filibuster.

Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi is suggesting that the March 18th deadline is doubtful, saying lawmakers first need final figures from the Congressional Budget Office.
