Woman Drowns Fishing in Steele County

AURORA, Minn. - A Steele County woman was found dead in a presumed drowning Sunday afternoon in Aurora Township.

Susan Frette, 59, was found floating face down in a private pond around 4 p.m. Sunday. Steele County deputies said Frette was fishing alone at the time of the incident. No foul play is suspected and an autopsy will be performed to determine the official cause of death.

Frette was not wearing a life jacket, but she had one inside her boat, which was found 50 feet away from where her body was recovered.
