BOSTON - Law enforcement in Massachusetts believe a man who ran away to avoid chemotherapy in 1994 could be traveling with Daniel Hauser, s Sleepy Eye, Minn. boy who went missing after a judge ordered he get medical treatment for his cancer.

Daniel Hauser, 13, had stopped chemotherapy after a single treatment for his Hodgkin's lymphoma, choosing "alternative medicines," as his treatment.

An arrest warrant was issued Tuesday for Colleen Hauser after her husband, Anthony, was the only family member to appear in Brown County court Tuesday. Hauser said he last saw Daniel and his wife Monday morning, when his wife told him she was going to leave and "That's all you need to know."

Officials believe Billy Joe Best could be traveling with Daniel Hauser and his mother. Colleen and Daniel Hauser have not been seen or heard from since a court-ordered medical exam showed his Hodgkin's lymphoma had worsened.

When and if they are found, Daniel will go to the custody of the state.
Best, 16, ran away in 1994 to avoid having more chemotherapy to fight his Hodgkin's disease. He returned after three weeks in Houston when his parents promised they would not force him to have the treatments.

Best has claimed his cancer was cured by natural remedies.
