Body Found in Ceiling of Airport

TWIN CITIES INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT, Minn - Airport police are investigating the death of an electrical worker at Twin Cities International Airport.

Police found the worker's body Saturday morning in the ceiling area of concourse E at the Lindbergh Terminal.

The man is being identified as Robert J. Germundson of Coon Rapids.

According to airport spokesman Pat Hogan, Germundson's family reported him missing Friday night after he didn't come home.

He was doing electrical work in that area of the airport. The space above the ceiling, the location of the man found, is full of pipes, utilities and wiring.

Airport police are working to figure out what caused the man's death. No foul play is suspected.

Germundson's family members arrived at the airport soon after they were notified of his death. They tell FOX 9 News Germundson was a great man who loved his family and loved his job. He worked for Premier Electric in Brooklyn Park.

Germundson had been an employee with Premiere Electrical since 1985.


The company has been doing contract work at the airport since the 60's, and the electrician had been working at the airport for years.


Company representatives say Germundson was one of the best employees they had, and all around great person who will be badly missed.
