Boys Harass Man Leaving Mpls Pride Event

A video posted on YouTube of a group of boys showering a man with anti-gay comments during the Twin Cities Pride Festival is causing some outrage in Minneapolis.

In the video, a group of more than ten young boys and teens follow a man down the street, saying, "I hate gay people," and "gay is not the way."

The video was posted on YouTube by Justin Gray Day. He says he was walking with his friend, Adam Schreifels, in the area of Grant Street and LaSalle Ave. near Loring Park when the group asked Schreifels if he was gay.

Schreifels said he was, setting off the anti-gay comments from the boys.

Several FOX 9 viewers who watched the video on YouTube have expressed concern over what appears to be two uniformed officers passing the group and turning their heads, but taking no action.

Jeremy Hanson, communication director from Mayor R.T. Rybak's office, clarified the officers are private security from a building in the area, not Minneapolis police officers.
