MINNEAPOLIS - Minneapolis police are looking for three men for the sexual assault of a University of Minnesota student.
Police says the woman was abducted by three men around 2:00 a.m. near 4th St. SE and 10th Ave. SE in the Marcy-Holmes neighborhood. Police say the men sexually assaulted her as they drove and the victim was released in the same area. Police say the woman reported the attack on Friday.
Each of the suspects is described as a black male, between the ages of
25 and 30 years old with short curly hair. Police say the suspects spoke in
English to the victim but spoke to each other in a foreign language
with an East African accent.
According to police, the first suspect had crooked teeth and was wearing a darker red
zip-up sweatshirt and blue jeans. The second suspect was unshaven and
was wearing a dark blue hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans, brown belt, and
black boots. The third suspect was wearing a dark blue t-shirt, dark
blue jeans, and gray and white tennis shoes.
The vehicle driven by the suspects is described as an older, dark
green minivan with back passenger doors on both sides.
Because the incident occured off-campus it is being investigated by
the Minneapolis Police Department (MPD). The MPD has assigned two sex
crimes investigators who are currently working on this case. Anyone
with information regarding this case is asked to call the MPD at
612-673-TIPS.
