Burke-Harris bragged to a friend about the murder

SAINT PAUL, Minn. - A 21-year-old man pled guilty on Wednesday in the fatal shooting of a 27-year-old man in 2009 in St. Paul.

Christopher Burke-Harris was charged with one count of intentional second degree murder of Troy Crawford on August 14, 2009.

According to a criminal complaint, police responding to a shots fired call near the intersection of Case Avenue E. and Burr Street found Crawford lying face down in the street. He had been shot in the head, chest and left arm, and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police gathered information from multiple witnesses that led to Burke-Harris being charged with murder on January 10, 2010. According to the criminal complain, one witness told police that Burke-Harris bragged that he had gotten away with killing Crawford.

Burke-Harris is scheduled to be sentenced April 27, 2010. He faces a sentence of more than 20 years in prison.
