Escaped Wildlife Center Wolf Spotted

HAM LAKE, Minn. - Wildlife Science Center confirms that tracks of the missing Mexican wolf have been spotted in Ham Lake. The DNR and the Wildlife Science Center are tracking the animal.

One tipster tells the center that he saw what he believed was the wolf near Blaine Wednesday morning. The center has received more than 60 tips about the missing wolf.

Authorities say someone allegedly broke into the Wildlife Science Center and released three wolves on Sunday. One wolf remains missing.

Two have been recovered. The Wildlife Center this has put a critically endangered wolf at risk. The wolf is part of an on-going captive breeding and reintroduction effort. The wolf weighs approximately 55-60 pounds.
