HUDSON, Wis. - A blue ribbon panel in Wisconsin is investigating what it calls the alcohol culture in Wisconsin.

Inside the dark and smoky Dick's Bar in Hudson, Wisconsin, Larry Einertson was drinking with his 20-year-old son, because it is legal in Wisconsin, if you are with a willing parent.

They have to be 18 years old. Their ID has to match and they can have two drinks. A new report by the Wisconsin State Council on Alcohol says it's a throwback to a cheese head drinking culture ripe for change.

Along with allowing gas stations to sell beer and wine and letting liquor stores open on Sunday, the report also recommends eliminating two for one special and training bartender in how women metabolize alcohol differently.

There are several theories about why Wisconsin folks like their alcohol: German settlers, long cold winters and Milwaukee’s legendary brewing history.
