Trial Begins Monday for Craiglist Babysitter Murder Suspect

Jury selection begins Monday in the trial of 20-year-old Michael John Anderson, accused of killing a woman who answered a Craigslist ad for a babysitter.

The Savage man is charged with first degree premeditated murder for the death of 24-year-old Katherine Olson on Oct. 25, 2007. His trial in Scott County could last as long as a month.

According to police, Anderson posted a false ad to lure Olson to his apartment to kill her. Anderson allegedly shot her in the back. Olson's body was found in the trunk of her car about five blocks from Anderson's home.

Anderson has pleaded not guilty to the crime. Defense attorneys have argued that Anderson's possible mild autism played a role in the shooting.
